Siobhan is a law reform lawyer in the Commercial and Common Law team at the Law Commission of England and Wales.  Her most recent project was in relation to the electronic execution of documents, looking particularly at the legal validity of e-signatures and the English law formalities for execution of documents. Siobhan has recently started work on the Law Commission’s scoping study into the use of smart contracts to execute legal contracts under the law of England and Wales. Siobhan is a dual-qualified solicitor in England and Wales, and New South Wales. Before joining the Law Commission, she worked for the Government Legal Department, the Australian courts and in legal publishing.
