Rupert Colchester leads IBM’s Blockchain business in the UK and Ireland, where he is helping organisations across all industries, and the full ecosystem of startups and developers, to understand and ultimately leverage the power of Blockchain technology. Having completed a degree in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science and worked for a software company in New York, Rupert began his IBM career as a technical architect in the networking, communications, and security domain. Following this he worked with Lloyds Banking Group as IBM’s Global Technology Services Lead for 4 years, before becoming Executive Assistant to the UK and Ireland Chief Executive in 2015 — a 1-year assignment in London where he engaged with many senior leaders across the UK government and business landscape. Outside work, Rupert runs an amateur 11-a-side football team, plays tennis, and recently led a 4-person team to launch the HUMO™ - a new form of human powered transport. He also enjoys mentoring young professionals in the technology sector.
