Mohamed Al-Khalifa heads the ICT Business Development unit at the Economic Development Board of Bahrain. His core focus revolves around promoting innovation across the country in legislation, public support mechanisms and through direct support to specific technical implementations.
He additionally works closely with technology focused companies in entering the Gulf market through Bahrain, by both streamlining entry and ensuring the regulatory environment is aligned with the needs of the countries most innovative companies.
Notable focus areas of his work revolve around public and private sector cloud adoption, blockchain, startups, and enhancing local skills and infrastructure development across the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Mohamed, is also a board member of the Bahrain Internet Exchange, and previously served as the Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain
