Margot James was appointed Minister of State for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in January 2018. Her responsibilities as Minister include:

  • Broadcasting
  • Creative Industries

Margot was previously Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy from July 2016 to January 2018. She was elected Conservative MP for Stourbridge in May 2010.

Before working in politics Margot worked in sales and marketing for her father’s business, MJI based in Birmingham. In 1986 she co-founded Shire Health Group, a public relations and medical education business. It was sold in 2004.
