The OECD and Guiding Blockchain Adoption
Blockchain Live interview with OECD
Greg Medcraft talks to Blockchain Live about OECD.
What do we need to consider when implementing blockchain? How do we ensure that we build trust into the technology know as the ‘trust machine’? How do we move the conversation forward, beyond the hype of blockchain and towards a realistic vision for new business models?
Greg Medcraft, Director of Financial and Enterprise Affairs at the OECD, discusses the importance of these factors when considering the impact of blockchain. Acknowledging that blockchain has the ability to transform economies and society, Medcraft highlights the responsibility of policy makers in taking part in the conversation, and the need to take a harmonised, global approach to principles and regulation if we are to realise blockchain’s full potential, while mitigating the potential risks.
“What we need to do is to harness this technology, and that means coming together – coming together, discussing the issues, discussing the business models, and that means having conferences like Blockchain Live that actually bring people together to discuss the issues.”
Join us on the Crypto Impact stage on 25th September 2019 to hear Greg Medcraft talk about the global approach to regulating virtual assets.
